The Mariposa Project

The Mariposa Project is a multi-faceted outreach of LightForce dedicated to the transformation and redemption of women and children being exploited. Under the umbrella of Mariposa, are three outreach projects: Fiestas, Jewelry Workshops, Passion & Purity Seminars. We believe that every victim has the opportunity to experience the love, beauty, freedom and hope found in Jesus Christ.

Mariposa means, "butterfly" in Spanish. The transformation from brokenness to wholeness is a metamorphosis that begins by loving people, as they are; where they are.

Passion for Purity Seminars

In cultures saturated in sex and distorted ideas of how women and men should look or act, young people everywhere have to take a stand and fight for the purity that their Maker has entrusted them with. But there is a change in the wind; God is raising up a generation that is willing to fight for what the enemy has taken away.

Jewelry Workshops

When a woman has been exploited and abused, there is nothing left of her self-esteem. As a way to rebuild morale and teach exploited women a new skill, the Mariposa Project conducts jewelry workshops.

LightForce uses these workshops as a means of training and outreach, where we can build relationships with the women while sharing the transforming power of the love of God.

Fiestas

Our fiestas were the beginning of LightForce's outreaches. At the fiestas, women and children supplied with food, fun, and immediate medical needs. Holding these fiestas gives us a solid, open way to approach the women as friends and begin to build relationships with them.
