Jewelry Workshops

When a woman has been exploited and abused, there is nothing left of her self-esteem. As a way to rebuild morale and teach exploited women a new skill, the Mariposa Project conducts jewelry workshops.

LightForce uses these workshops as a means of training and outreach, where we can build relationships with the women while sharing the transforming power of the love of God.

During the workshops, we ask the ladies to make three pairs of earrings, 1 of which we resell to support the ministry. The women are under no obligation to sell the jewelry we teach them to make; it is completely up to them to move forward with this newfound skill. As we continue to do workshops, consistent participants have the opportunity to buy their beads from us so that they can learn how to develop their own business.

In addition to the women we help, our staff and volunteers make earrings as well that we resell in the States. We do this in order that there is no discrimination between any one woman’s talents over another.
